Mrs. Amber DeGeorge,  A-D

 

Mrs. DeGeorge assists students with the last names A thru D with academic and personal concerns as well as with college planning.  She is a native of Kingsport, TN where she graduated from King University with her Bachelors of Art degree in Elementary Education.  She later graduated from MTSU with a Masters of Education in School Counseling and was an elementary school counselor before coming to Blackman.  This is Mrs. DeGeorge's third year at BHS.  Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, attending Vanderbilt sporting events and traveling.

Ms. Christine Bryan, E-K

 

Ms. Bryan assists students with the last names E thru K with academic and personal concerns as well as with college planning.  She recently moved here from Germantown, TN with her two kiddos- Nathan-16 and Madeleine-10. She is a graduate of the University of Memphis where she obtained both her Bachelors of Science in Education and her Masters of Science in Counseling and Pesonnel Services.  This is her fourteenth year in education. She was a middle school math teacher for four years before becoming a high school counselor, which she has been for the past nine years and absolutely loves. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her kiddos, running, biking and traveling, especially to the mountains.

Mrs. Van Winkle assists students with the last names L thru R with academic and personal concerns as well as with college planning.  She is a native of Northern Mississippi.  She attended Mississippi State University where graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education.  Before graduating with her Masters of Education in School Counseling from MTSU, Mrs. Van Winkle taught elementary school, 6th and 4th grade for six years.  This is her sixth year at Blackman High School, where she serves as department chair.  Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her two girls- Kennedy, 2 and Mia, 1 and relaxing by the fire pit on her back patio.

Mrs. Clawson assists students with the last names S thru Z with academic and personal concerns as well as with college planning.  She is a native of Valdosta, Georgia where she graduated from Valdosta State University with her Bachelors of Art degree in English/Journalism and later her Masters of Education in School Counseling.  This is Mrs. Clawson's fourth year at Blackman High School. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, watching Florida State football and traveling to South Georgia to spend time with her family.

Mrs. Marina Sadler, Guidance Secretary

 

Mrs. Sadler is often the first face you see when coming to the Counseling Office. She not only assists students and parents when they come in, she also serves as our schools registar and will assist you with your transcript needs. Mrs. Sadler is a native of Rutherford County and can't imagaine living anywhere else. She has been apart of Blackman High School since 2000 when the doors opened. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her two daughters, three grandkids and is a pretty big UTK fan.

Mrs. Kim Garrott, Graduation Coach

 

Mrs. Garrott serves as our graduation coach for all grade levles.  She is a native of Shelbyville and attended MTSU where she earned a Bachelors of Science, a Masters in Administration with a minor in Library Science and an Ed.S in Administration Supervision. This is her twenty-sixth year in education and has been at Blackman High School since the doors opened in 2000.  Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her son, Alex-11, attending various sporting events, scrapbooking and photography.
